The Chandra Alexis Chess Club will assist the World Chess Federation in attempting to set a new world record for 1,000,000 games to be played within a 24 hour period. We are registered with the World Chess Federation and offer four 12-round sections during an eight hour period. Our time control will be game in 3 minutes, plus a 2 second increment beginning with move one. We will run as many rounds as possible! The first round begins at 4 p.m. and the tournament will end at 11 p.m. on July 19th. These times correspond with the July 20th, Lucerne, Switzerland, time zone. The World Chess Federation limits a player to eight hours per day. If you are interested in joining FIDE in setting it’s Guinness Book of World Records million game mark, please fill out the registration form below. The location will be posted once we lock it in. Check with us for updates every day or two. If you do not have a FIDE ID, include your DOB in the FIDE ID field. Strange yes, but it makes the World Chess Federation happy. This event will be duel rated: US Chess and World Chess Federations. See the information below to get a better idea of the record attempt and procedures. Thanks for joining us! George Lundy, your cruel, heartless, FIDE National Arbiter for the United States.
