Registration for FIDE rated players ends on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 8 p.m. The Shark Pool FIDE Invitational tournament Saturday, September 25, 2021 through Sunday, September 26, 2021. There is no minimum FIDE rating.
To register for the FIDE section: Contact FIDE National Arbiter George Lundy at chandraalexischessclub@gmail.com before Noon on the closing date above. The entry fee is $25. Once you have registered, you will be sent a unique tournament code to pay your entry fee. FIDE Titled players always play for free. The FIDE section prize fund is $45, $30, $25.
The USCF prize fund is based on ten total entries. The top half is $40, $30, $15, $10, $5. The bottom half is: $40, $30, $15, $10, $5. The prize fund for fewer than ten entries is 80% of the entry fees. Eight players for example, will pay out $160.
The time control is 40/90;SD/30 +30. This four-round event features two rounds each day at 9 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Registration for the USCF section ends Friday September 24, 2021 at 8 p.m. or when all 12 seats have been filled. There are no on-site registrations. No exceptions.
Sets, boards. carbonless scoresheets and FIDE approved clocks are provided by the club. Please notify the Arbiter if you would prefer to use your personal equipment Please bring a pen or pencil to keep score…FIDE requires completed and signed scoresheets for all rated games.
If a FIDE arbiter would like to work one of our events, please contact George. All arbiters must be active with the World Chess Federation. US Chess Federation only tournament directors, are not eligible to work FIDE events. You are welcome to help with the USCF rated section.
