A further tribute to Michael Moorcock’s Eternal Champion, Eric of Melniboné and his sword, Stormbringer . This is the 95th U.S. Chess and 22nd FIDE tournament offered by the Chandra Alexis Chess Club since September 2018.
The location for this event is in the Dragon’s Alcove of All About Games, 7079 Overland, Boise, Idaho, each Monday beginning at 5 p.m. The time control is game in 90 minutes with a 30 second increment per move. Unlike most FIDE rated events charging $100 if you are talented enough to be rated over 2200, or as much as $400 for the rest of us, the entry fee for this U.S. Chess and FIDE dual rated event is free.
You are invited to compete against Boise players who helped the World Chess Federation break the previous Guinness Book of World Records mark of 1,000,000 games played by a single affiliate in a 24-hour period, with more than 7.2 million games! True, we only added 70 games to the total . . . but we broke the record!
Chess should always be fun however, if you are unable to play in all four rounds, or just passing through town on a Monday, you are always most welcome to join us for some serious chess.
